Damn...it turns out "may you live in interesting times" actually IS a curse.

I joined Twitter 16 years ago, but (literally) never posted anything. I got enough enjoyment reading everyone else's posts.

I joined BlueSky a few months ago, planning to post but avoid politics (who needs the extra stress?)

I cannot in good conscience stay silent any longer.

This is the way.

How does a "technical error" result in "identical" pardon signatures?

This administration literally went to court—court!—to try to undo Joe Biden's "autopen" pardons... so they could prosecute the recipients.

@support.bsky.team

I have a feature request. I would like to be able to set filters for accounts that want to follow me.

For example, I may not want anyone to follow me that has only 1 post, or anyone that follows 20,000 accounts but only has 100 followers themselves. Can we do that?

Ask anybody who has been on strike for better conditions or pay about the need to suffer in the short term for real long-term improvements.

Dems who supported ending the shutdown because of "constituents pain" PRETEND to have forgotten this basic lesson.

Their true motivations lie elsewhere.

This video-essay about the modern GOP and DEM parties offers a compelling explanation for why DEMs so often fail to achieve stated goals (like failing to get an ACA concession from the shutdown) arguing it's intentional.

NOTE: the video is from 2023 so "prescient" applies.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

No guts.

Today, like so many times in the past, Senate Democrats ensured a Republican and right-wing victory that demoralizes the party base and directly and negatively impacts the lives of working-class and poor Americans.

Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

"A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone." - DJT

You can use whatever money there is to pay down the debt, or you can use it to pacify the angry villagers, but you can't do both.

Besides, that won't even cover your increased ACA premiums.
