His first success was having his startup purchased by the company that became PayPal, who kept him on as CEO briefly. They then ousted him while he was traveling so they could have a better CEO. Everything since then has just been through sheer force of wealth.

Do you think they are bad enough with technology to accidentally pay out a few requests labeled "Portland Donation" or similar? Obviously to burner accounts, not anything they could easily trace back to someone.

I'm not saying it's a good idea, but what do you think the odds are that they are bad enough with technology that a few Venmo requests that say Portland donation would slip by and get paid out?

I do not, however, believe he would need to be on the run. Just buy up some airtime and tell the people that it should be legal for you to do crimes, and I think the majority would riot against justice being served for James Spader, specifically.

The mention of a coherent plan tells me this is a joke about the promising start and the fact that it sort of went off the rails as it went on. So it's best to remember it as a single season that could have gone in interesting directions. Like saying it's too bad they didn't franchise The Matrix.

I hate that card, too. The only time I didn't hate it was when my opponent used it on turn one to see my hand full of hares apparent and immediately quit.
Oh, you are going to exile one of the 20 in this deck? Sure, why not?
