The PM's answer to the question about the impact of the social media ban on LGBTIQ+ kids shows that he simply does not understand the needs of this community, and does not seem to be concerned that his policy will dramatically increase their isolation and therefore risk of depression. #auspol
Albanese, not beating allegations of being an out of touch cis hetero man.

What do you mean expose kids trying to figure out who they are, who they can be. That's just kids in the city, Albo condemn kids outside the metro to never finding their people.

Today marks #EconomicAbuseAwareness Day.

Last year, 1 in 7 women in the UK experienced economic abuse from a current or former partner.

Abusers use this form of control to restrict freedom and leave victim-survivors trapped in dangerous situations.

Requiring ID checks as proof of age for using social media will have unintended consequences for victims of stalling, domestic, family & sexual violence of all ages. My thread from last week 👇🏻
Aside from all the other ways the social media ban is a Bad Idea, requiring ID as proof of age will impede the ability for people to be anonymous online - including victims of stalking, domestic, family & other violence
It's good people are catching on that the social media ban will mean everyone will have to have their ages checked - not just teens. Though I still feel a lot won't realise until they go to log in one day after it's in and then there will be outrage about it 🥴

Labor’s proposed social media ban lacks a ton of nuance. I can’t see how it will be enforced. Maybe that’s got something to do with the very short public consultation period.

As a woman, I am effectively working for free from today, until the end of 2024. Today marks the day in the year when, on average, we stop earning relative to men because of the #GenderPayGap. In the UK #EqualPayDay comes 2 days earlier than it did last year. We can’t be complacent #EconomicSafety
