Short answer: Midna ❤️

Long answer: I love the way the game flows from one scene to the next. It makes me not want to put it down!
in your opinion, what do you think makes twilight princess so special? 🍁

If you gave me Emerald Hill Zone and told me it was the only video game I could play for the rest of my life I wouldn't even be mad.

No, not Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I mean JUST stage 1.

It's THAT good! 👈😌
Sonic 2 was mid tbh
Metropolis Zone has three acts of:
1. Crabs designed specifically to knock Amy off of ledges.
2. Starfish blowing up while Amy is on her nut.
3. Mantises (and more starfish) everywhere!
4. goddammit

...I guess I have a lot of opinions about video game music. 😅

The Sega Genesis has incredible music, but with a few terrible soundtracks in very popular games. 😤

The crushed sound samples of the SNES and GBA don't sound nearly as good as the sound output of the Game Boy! 😤

The Super Mario and Legend of Zelda games sounded way better before they switched to recorded orchestral soundtracks. 😤

Taiyou no Tenshi Marlow for #gameboy is one of the best looking, most unique action puzzle games for the console.

Help the naked flying baby save his girlfriend using the power of the sun to grow flowers! Watch out for girls on roller skates dropping bombs.

It's pretty fun. 🙂

😟

I first learned about her from the (really fun!) video game documentary "High Score" (2020).

That list of game credits... 🤯🤯🤯

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca...
In the decade-plus I've been making my weekly videos, Rebecca was the only developer to have jumped into my comments to clear up a point I was unclear about—then she graciously agreed to be on the podcast. I found her to be as generous and kind as she was talented. It's truly tragic that she's gone.
In hearing of the passing of Rebecca Heineman, I thought it would be worth sharing this wonderful interview she did on @retronauts.bsky.social:

I love the way they remixed the SMB2 music into every episode! ❤️

I stand by my opinion that "Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues" for #gameboy is the BEST #jurassicpark game of the 90s (and there was a LOT of them). It's just pure run and jump fun! 😄🦖

...or as the #gameboy port is called, Adventure Island II. 😄

I did a video review a while back. It really is a well made, solid sidescroller!

And I LOVE the art direction. It's so crisp and clear even on the original Game Boy. 😌

Some fun facts about the InfoGenius Productivity Pak: Personal Organizer for #gameboy:

You have to set the day and time EVERY TIME you turn it on. It won't even remember it from the last time you turned it on. 😬

Great review! 🙂

Is Mega Man II for #gameboy the best of the five games? No. 🤔

Is it an above average platformer for the system? Yes! And is absolutely worth playing by fans of the series. 😌

Also where else can you see Mega Man fighting an EVIL FUTURE VERSION of himself on A frickin' POGO STICK??

PRO TIP: If you mess up the timing (like in this pic) then use the "Carry" item to save yourself! 🤓

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge for #gameboy is one of my favorite games of all time. 😊
See! This is exactly what I'm talking about!
If Mega Man - or Roll in this case - ever went to Hell, this is what it would look like.
Spikes and disappearing blocks...

My favorite Game Boy Advance hidden gem:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

An all-original 2D metroidvania with great graphics, sound, and controls. 🤩 And cartridges are so inexpensive.

I've played through The Legend of #Zelda: Ocarina of Time for #nintendo64 many, many times ever since it first came out in the 90s, and honestly...

...I never once thought Navi was annoying. 👀❓

@quest64official.bsky.social I just found my Feb 1999 copy of Nintendo Power at my mom's house and saw this. I had to take a pic for you, and anyone else needing answers. 😊

Just tried out Kid Dracula for #gameboy and it really is an incredibly polished platformed, and a lot of fun! 🤩

I was playing the English version on my EverDrive because I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on a single cartridge. 😭 I do have a copy of the Japanese version though.

Because of this great review I finally tried out the #gameboy port of Joe & Mac and IT'S WAY BETTER THAN I EXPECTED! 🤯 It actually seems a little closer to the arcade version than the #snes port? I may have to get a copy.

Worst part? Backgrounds are too dark and hard to see. 😑

But the BEST part...
It's been a minute since I wrote something, so here's a look at Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja for the Super Nintendo.

Yeah, this is a completely random pick for a review.
Deal with it.

I finally got a chance to play X / Ekkusu / Lunar Chase for the original #gameboy. You know, the 3D space game by Argonaut before they did #starfox.

HOLY CRAP IT'S SO GOOD. 🤯🤯🤯

True 3D, no slow down, easy to see, great story, tons of action, cutscenes, strategy, weapons, driving AND flight...

I spent over an hour reading this thinking, man, this writer is using a LOT of words to not say a lot. But also it's kinda vague at the same time? But I love the Game Boy so I kept reading.

On a whim decided to check it and, oh, it's AI generated.

What a waste of my time. 😕

I love the #metroid series.

I can't stand Zero Mission.

The new ending is tacked on, not fun, and ruins the narrative. 🧐

The new graphics and sound poop all over the INCREDIBLE original visuals and atmosphere, turning it into a comic book. 😩

And JUSTIN BAILEY IS COOLER THAN ZERO SUIT SAMUS. 🤩

I FINALLY HAVE AN ANSWER! 🤩

Aladdin for #gameboy stage 1 uses the song from the Genesis prototype stage 2!

Which was cut and then repurposed for The Jungle Book stage 3!

Wait, are there any #gameboy games with boomerangs??? 🧐

All I can think of is Link's Awakening, and that's a hidden optional item that is so overpowered it practically breaks the game...

Maybe Quick Man's weapon in Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge?

Boomerages are seriously underrepresented on the GB!
Ranking classic video game boomerangs

#1 - The Goonies 2 by Konami
Pros: Can be thrown in every direction. Immense reach & speed. Destroys enemies before they become a problem.
Cons: Floating skulls will steal it. You'll have to go back and get another if they do.
