Any of my experienced MPAS users...do you know why an initialization over the ocean would produce blank (fill value) meteorological fields? Would it be tied to surface physics/fluxes from the ocean? I am having a hard time understanding why ERA5 met fields would not be replicated in MPAS.

They are really planning to go through with these cuts at Nebraska, despite recommendations not to. Unbelievable.

If you want to hire highly qualified, very successful earth and atmospheric sciences faculty in teaching and research, quite a few are probably looking for jobs for next year.

ICYMI: Staggering rainfall in Vietnam in the past week. Bach Ma mountain near Hue City recorded a one-day rainfall of 1,740 mm (68.50 in). This is unofficially the second highest 24-hour rainfall ever recorded globally.
