Computers, information systems, teaching, outer space, hockey, and board games. Not necessarily in that order. I fully support the Oxford comma.

Hey, @wilwheaton.net, my gaming group got together yesterday to celebrate International Tabletop Day. We had 18 gamers playing on five tables for a day long celebration. I know #Tabletop is over, but we keep the holiday every year. Thanks for everything. You’re the best! #boardgames

Yesterday was a historic shaming of our country. I think this is the most concise summary of my feelings that I've seen so far. Well done, @adamkinzinger.bsky.social! Thank you for your service and your bravery.
Let’s put this in perspective, if you had a friend whose husband was as fragile and psycho as Trump is, you’d tell her to roll on out and find safe haven:

Never forget that Trump was the culmination of 40 years of stagnant wages, widening inequality, corruption, dog-whistle politics, and economic gains for the rich.

If we fail to address this, we should expect future Trumps as far as the eye can see.

I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now. I’ve watched as corporations ransacked our system. In 1952, the corporate share of federal tax revenue was 32%. In 2020, it was down to 7%. Here’s how we break the corporate oligarchy and return power to the people. Wired’s coverage these last two weeks has been exceptional. Truly the best kind of reporting. A worthy place for your subscription dollars.
DOGE operative Marko Elez got the ability to alter US Treasury payment system code on Feb 1, WIRED's sources say.

For days, Trump officials fed members of Congress and the press a different story.

Elez is out now for posts reading "I was racist before it was cool" and "normalize Indian hate."
The US Treasury Claimed DOGE Technologist Didn’t Have ‘Write Access’ When He Actually Did
Sources tell WIRED that the ability of DOGE's Marko Elez to alter code controlling trillions in federal spending was rescinded days after US Treasury and White House officials said it didn't exist.

So here’s my thought: I’m not asking anyone to trust these people. I’m not asking you to take them into your hearts.

But. My personal plan is when someone tells me this, to tell them that they were lied to, and I’m sorry that happened, and they deserve a better leader.
Was out getting groceries this morning, overheard a few conversations that were basically:

-- He what?
-- He shut it down.
-- He can't, we need that.
-- And I voted for him.
-- So did I.
-- Motherfucker.

Some were about health, one about WIC programs, all seemed to be Trump voters.

I skipped the inauguration and went for a run today. I couldn’t bring myself to watch it this time. I have friends to the left and the right of me. I fear we are all heading towards a bad time, even if some of us don’t realize it yet. I am praying for all of us. You should pray for all of us too.
