“Deport” doesn’t quite fit with US citizens.

Let’s try “exiled.”

Forced absence from one’s own country, often for political or punitive reasons.

Even that is too kind.

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements

We’re going to annex Canada and invade Greenland but we can’t request return of an innocent man from El Salvador.

The last day on which a majority of the Supreme Court’s justices had been appointed by Democratic presidents was May 14, 1969.

One of the things we do in the legal academy is support our claims with facts.

I’m old enough to remember being told giving water away charitably in Georgia was a grave threat to election integrity.
Republicans in Wisconsin have been silent on the Musk giveaway — but the RNC has warned a group they cannot give ice cream to college students.

Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

Rumeysa Ozturk must not be deported. You can't kidnap someone off the street for their political views — this isn't Moscow.

She has every right to speak her mind. I've contacted the Administration. I want answers.

Remembering when in December Trump announced:

"The media is tamed down a little bit. They like us much better now, I think. If they don’t, then we’ll just have to take them on again, and we don’t want to do that."

It is amazing how right he was and how cowardly so many of them have become.

Finally got around to liberating myself from twitter/X. Can’t have any association with Elon Musk. Interested in history, democracy, LGBTQ rights, books, nature, etc.
