I retired recently. Through my working life, I tried to set a little bit of my income aside with each paycheck. In the past six weeks, I have lost the equivalent of my last year's salary, most of it in the last 3 days. Not just the after tax income, but gross wages for an entire year.

Upon listening to recordings of communications at the DC airport from the time of the crash, I am in awe of the immediate responses from the tower, the airport authority, and emergency services. Within seconds of a tragic event, they jump on top of the situation and put out their very best service.
