Given that she’s being fucking based right now, I thought I’d mention that Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend is the album of the year imo.

The song “The Life of a Showgirl” has what I call “The Stan Problem”. It is a song that starts intensely self-critical until the artist absolves themself in the final verse.

Is it a good time to admit that I personally really like Kimmel as an Oscars host?

Vigilante has reached Kendall Roy levels of Baby Girl for me.

I’m apparently in the minority in that I think Sabrina Carpenter’s new album is her best work. I got goosebumps several times throughout.

1. On Tuesday, Congresswoman Sarah McBride gave a interview with Ezra Klein at the New York Times.

It has been used to seed the ground for a rightward shift in the Democratic Party on trans rights.

Some allies have failed to grasp the problems with her approach.

Here's what McBride gets wrong.
What Sarah McBride Gets Wrong
Congresswoman Sarah McBride recently interviewed with Ezra Klein at the New York Times, where she advocated for a more cowardly form of politics when it comes to transgender people.

Ncuti Gatwa’s tenure as The Doctor may have been short, but out of 20 episodes, there were 7 really great, memorable ones. That is a much better batting average than most runs people have on the show. Also, I just think his second series had no misses.

Gonna be reading all of Proust’s In Search of Lost Time. I’m gonna keep a running commentary going.

I think this current season of Doctor Who is an all time great one and other Doctor Who fans get mad at me when I say that.

@bigjoel.bsky.social just released a video only on Nebula because he didn’t think it was good enough for regular release, and I gotta say it was one of the most insightful and interesting video essays I’ve ever seen.

If Buffy the Vampire Slayer were made today, there’d be an episode called “Serving Hunt”.

It’s important for me to let people know that canonically Jar Jar Binks is Bishop in another universe.

If you’re not reading Batman: Dark Patterns, you should be. Honestly, I’d put money on this series ending up as influential as The Long Halloween in 10 year’s time.

@emilystjams.bsky.social wrote the last episode of Yellowjackets, "Thanksgiving (Cananda)", which I found especially haunting and brilliant, even for the show. Emily asked me some years ago to do some illos for her (thanks!) Here's one of the pieces we worked on together. www.vox.com/culture/2019...

I saw a production of Sizwe Banzi is Dead in my first semester in undergrad and it was one of the most electric things I’ve ever witnessed, due in large part to Fugard, Kani, and Ntshona’s script.
A giant of 20th century playwriting and a hugely important dissident artist reviled by his home country's government, a category about which we should probably start re-educating ourselves. RIP Athol Fugard. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/09/o...
Athol Fugard, South African Playwright Who Dissected Apartheid, Dies at 92
In works that included “Blood Knot,” “Sizwe Banzi Is Dead” and “The Island,” he exposed the realities of racial separatism in his homeland.

Headline: trans girl sets triple jump record

Reality: It's a meet record in division 3. It's not even a sports record or a top division record. It's for a single meet, the kind of record that goes down all the time.

So many such cases of disinformation.
