A reminder that when we characterize an infection as mild, we are referring to the acute phase.
Recent studies have strongly emphasized that the long-term consequences are the most concerning and can have life-altering effects.
Numerous more studies are forthcoming that are alarming.

In societies that demonise long term chronically sick people, fail to cure them and instead demand they get back to work, euthanasia should not exist

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”

I’m not living in fear of a virus, I’m living with the disgust I feel from watching you all prioritize your feelings over the heath of your families and communities. I’m not afraid, I’m offended and I’m pissed off that I was tricked into thinking that most people had at least some decency.

COVID is airborne, and each infection carries cumulative risks. Long COVID has no cure, and the pandemic isn’t over. Wearing a mask is still one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and others. Stay informed and stay safe.

Signs of brain inflammation were present up to 18 months after first contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

"We show that the brainstem is a site of vulnerability to long-term effects of COVID-19, with persistent changes evident in the months after hospitalization," the authors of the study conclude.
