It’s #Friday folks!

Have the best #weekend you can.

You know the drill:
Be #kind
Be #gentle
Be #true
Be like #bees

And be concerned, appalled and agitated by the behaviour and perversions of your legislators.

October 2025 Globally, according to NASA, had a temperature anomaly of +0.66C vs 1991/2020 or +1.22C vs 1951/2020 and was firmly the 3rd hottest October on record.
2025 so far is 2nd behind 2024 but it might be reached by 2023 in few weeks.

We just had 4+ inches of rain yesterday, and that bright yellow is saying we're getting 10+ more inches in the next 10 days.

Wow. I am sure I'll wake up tomorrow and find this is yet another GFS illusion. Alternatively, we are so f&%ked.

You thought our Deep South record cold was impressive? Take a look at this record heat! 100 plus record highs today across the Nation’s middle. Temps in some of the Northern Plains besting Florida!
Pretty darn comfortable for November.

A yottajoule of heat would increase sea levels by about 7.7 meters, if all that heat were to be directed to the melting of land ice.

Air and Sea Surface Temperatures are now likely already higher than during the Eemian warm period 125,000 years ago.

Greenhouse gases we add to the atmosphere and the resulting Earth's Energy Imbalance could cause about a yottajoule (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules) of heat to accumulate in the Earth system this century.

Causing an energy level similar to the Eemian, when sea level was ~7.5m higher!

The November ENSO forecast was just released yesterday by NOAA, and by early summer, 2026, the next El Nino may be underway.

Will there be an El Nino next year? Will 1.5°C be history? Will we solve for x?

The Climate 8-Ball has one hand in its pocket.

Pound for pound, this heat dome is every bit as impressive (or more) as the cold snap. Even more records. But since the temps are comfortable, it won’t make much news.

Quite some whiplash: from record heat to record wet (and yet one more damaging wildfire before that happens) Well, the weather this year sure is doing its best to keep us on our toes! The last 2-3 weeks featured record (or near-record) warmth across most of California and Nevada, as well as a good portion

Handwashing is impossible with an energy limiting chronic illness.

I can’t use a laundromat due to severe scent sensitivities.

I could try hiring a professional to clean it, but it costs nearly HALF what it would be just to replace it

Has anyone with MCAS dealt with this? Did you find a solution?

I am at my wits end with my laundry machine.

Landlord won’t replace it because it technically “still works”.

The problem is it’s got some kind of crud, likely mold, making my MCAS rage.

I’ve tried every cleaning product I can tolerate and it’s still causing hives, swelling & rashes.

This episode combines my own evolution of understanding with the overarching narrative of The Great Simplification, speaking to what it means to be human in a dichotomous era of abundance and depletion, of numbness and awakening.
What began years ago as an investigation into oil has morphed into a deep lifelong journey into the complex web of energy, psychology, evolution, and systems that drive today’s society.
