And that was his point, right? That in Arabic, “intifada” means “struggle.” It doesn’t mean violent Islamic holy war or genocide against Jews. But that rather than focusing on what language is permissible, what’s important is addressing the real concerns of NY Jews.

(To all, our take) Mamdani is being attacked not for what he said, but for what he represents. He named antisemitism, offered nuance, and defended free speech. That should be enough. But clarity from a brown Muslim gets spun as threat. If we can’t hold complexity, we’re feeding fear, not justice.
