I can find #PersonalFinance lessons anywhere. They're just a lot more fun in "One of Them Days," a hilarious and pointed film starring the fabulous Keke Palmer and SZA. The film gets bonus PF points for having payday loans be a major plot point. bit.ly/4aAgQP1

In my lifetime I’ve seen the concept of “work” change from something everyone wanted into something that’s to be minimized, if not avoided altogether. Everybody seems to want to be rich, to retire early, or not to have to work at all.

that explains why my mother took me off ritalin at 13 because "i didn't really need it anymore, probably" and boy did that make everything for the next fifteen years including university really interesting
There's compelling evidence that the reason kids were understood to "grow out of ADHD" is because it was mainly diagnosed in the sort of white boy who grows up to be a white man with a secretary or wife whose job is to do his executive functioning for him.

Just did the math and this blows about a $20k hole in what I expected to make in 2024.

I absolutely get it if you can’t afford to be a Patreon patron or paid subscriber to my newsletter.

Under these circumstances, could I please ask you to boost this post though? That would help immensely—thanks!
Just found out openDemocracy is making major cuts, and I’m being laid off as a columnist.

This in spite of my weekly columns always doing well with the UK audience, landing among the week’s most read pieces.

A tip from someone with six animals who spent, unfortunately, 21k on vet bills last year.

MANY prescriptions animals are put on (gabapentin comes immediately to mind) are human drugs. Paper prescriptions + the goodrx app for coupons will get you a lot of vet medicines for under ten bucks.
