On this quarter's @enoughaboutai.com episode, @ciaranoconnor.bsky.social and I are talking about the #AI bubble, and the consequences for jobs whether it pops or not. As well as ChatGPT5, bad graphs, third devices, and whatever a "non-woke" chatbot might be.

Interesting that @anthropic.com Claude’s current model still has this weird behaviour of catching itself midway through saying something ridiculous. I found a small egg in my window box and asked for likely sources. It said snails(!?) and also that rats lay eggs, before realising they don’t. #GenAI

Interesting to see the huge push for Israel #Eurovsion votes via advertising today. Several people remarked the same to me this afternoon, and I'm getting pre-rolls on Youtube, on completely unrelated videos.

I can't find the current (much worse) one that I saw at the weekend, but even the previous one was pretty ropey too... vagabondtoursofireland.com/images-adven...

Get with the times, grandad. Everything's been computer for ages now. Jessica knew it 30 years ago.

Found this under the old attic insulation we removed earlier, so we know the day it went in - and get to remember that peace processes do sometimes succeed even in seemingly impossible circumstances. More of that, please.

Remember that properly protecting yourself while upgrading your attic #insulation is also a good opportunity to terrify your neighbours if they catch a glimpse.

Our safeguards will be strict, our guidelines clear, our police AI overseen… Can’t wait to hear how - especially with the elsewhere promised best data protection in Europe.

New episode of @enoughaboutai.com this week where @ciaranoconnor.bsky.social and I talk about #AI and various potential dooms - and where we draw the basilisk stare of a future AI monster upon all who dare to listen. Enjoy!

New episode of the #EnoughAboutAI podcast is about training and testing AI models - @ciaranoconnor.bsky.social and I chat about the data. Also a grotesque use of human centipedes as an analogy, but that's top scientific communication for you...
