Aha! Thanks. The use of map location pins might be unintentionally conveying a sense that they’re precisely placed now. I misinterpreted your info text as blue meaning “maybe not born here but associated with this town/area”.

Are they just dotted around counties based on that, or positioned more exactly based on information about their town or place of birth?

Interesting! Are the label locations determined by cross-referencing the names of people to prior Irish censuses?

Don’t look at what’s happening in tech and data protection if you don’t like this model :/
