Agreed. Journalists, Politicians, Activists, Public Figures, NGOs, etc., all USED TO get something immensely valuable out of Twitter - and I assume many have hung on because of nostalgia and sunk costs - but it is an increasingly putrid carcass of what it once was. Leave it to decay without you.

Before computers became terrible and drowned us all in AI slop, they used to be Jacquard looms. Here's one now in the National Museum of Scotland. What a marvel!

Mystifying why The Irish Times fails to report the many equally baseless things that I or anyone else who's not on the ballot might "call for". Maybe if we all had better handbags to accessorise our self-serving demands?

ChatGPT “Edu” is the same chat model, with some greater leeway on message limits and a promise not to use the prompt data for training. It’s not meaningfully designed for education in any sense. This is just marketing for an existing general purpose product in a potentially lucrative sector.
NEW: Oxford will be the first UK university to give all staff and students free ChatGPT Edu access, from this academic year.

ChatGPT Edu is built for education, with enhanced privacy and security.

This is nearly as good as when we got to see what a fun and legless time we would all have in the Metaverse.

It's really that bad: "...about one-third of the statements made by AI tools like Perplexity, You*com and Microsoft's Bing Chat were not supported by the sources they provided. For OpenAI's GPT 4.5, the figure was 47%" 👀😏
A new study finds AI tools are often unreliable, overconfident and one-sided
Artificial intelligence may well save us time by finding information faster, but it is not always a reliable researcher. It frequently makes unsupported claims that are not backed up by reliable sourc...

It’s good to see some solidarity in an event that’s specifically about unity. I hope more countries join this stance.
In a statement, AVROTROS said that it could no longer justify Israel's participation in Eurovision "given the ongoing and severe human suffering in Gaza" and the "serious erosion of press freedom".

Dutch public broadcaster joins RTÉ in saying it will boycott Eurovision if Israel takes part
The broadcaster pointed to the ban on journalists entering Gaza and the many reporters killed there.

Certainly correct. And hopefully a widely adopted stance across more countries involved in #Eurovision.

Interesting repeated use of the em-dash there, alongside the cadences familiar to anyone who has to read AI outputs a lot! Odd too to specify "exercising [his] constitutional authority" under Article 14, the one about what happens where there isn't a president! An chiall amach is an mórtas isteach?
