It got to the point where I almost couldn't stand visiting my parents' house because my boomer mom had a television in the living room, the family room, the kitchen, the laundry room, her bedroom and her office. I would walk around the house turning them off, trying to create a few moments of peace.
Most American teenagers use YouTube and TikTok daily, according to a report by the Pew Research Center, and roughly one in five said they were on one of the two platforms “almost constantly.”

I spend so much time verifying everything now from art to cited sources to photos to historical references to citations to quotes to legal and medical information that it's really hard to fathom how much work AI has collectively added to the world, not reduced
Here's the reality this example illustrates:

It's not even just about people blindly trusting what ChatGPT tells them. LLMs are poisoning the entire information ecosystem. You can't even necessarily trust that the citations in a published paper are real (or a search engine's descriptions of them).

The law of war is (1) ancient, (2) Catholic, and (3) originates with natural law – so I am totally looking forward to J.D. Vance's disquisition on how we should toss Jus in Bello as some inconsequential woke Wilsonian culture war against the traditional masculine martial pursuits.

I mean, why is the entire Internet filled up with incensed takes about Olivia Nuzzi's weakness for silver foxes – meanwhile Michael Wolff is secretly advising one of the worst sex offenders in U.S. history on how to blackmail the President of the United States.

I don't know what everyone is so sour about: this l'amour fou between Olivia Nuzzi and Ryan Lizza is the best thing that's happened in U.S. politics since Condoleezza Rice accidentally referred to George W. Bush as "my husband". (slate.com/culture/2004...)

I am all about the intersection of libido and will to power, so will most certainly be reading Olivia Nuzzi's book.

Democrats are not sovereigns over their national image. They don't set it by fiat. The Democrats' national image is the outcome of a competition with a variety of other power centers of varying levels of hostility.
Except the national party image is not meaningfully connected to the actual behavior & priorities of the party. It is constructed by hostile media.

And when you say shit like "Dems don't want to teach algebra," *you are part of that hostile media*, creating a distorted national party image.
My argument is super simple, it’s that according to Elliott Morris’s data:

1. Moderates do better on average

2. National party images are increasingly important

Morris is a smart guy and Democrats should follow his advice and moderate their national image.

Growth only matters for the debt if the government captures part of that growth in taxes. If the one percent hoover up all the growth, then debt panic has become just another ideological cudgel in the war of the wealthy against the rest of society.
SOLOMON: “.. If we continue on the current course and we don’t take the growth level up, there will be a reckoning. .. The path out is a growth path.”

One of the ways that people persist in thinking that we still exist in the twentieth century media world is that if a story get legs, then it has to have an empirical basis. Haitians eating the pets of Springfielders should be your paradigm for understanding this. /1
look at what happened with immigration: dems try to be “centrist” with the biden border bill, gop just went further right and started lying about eating pets…may be a lesson to learn there
