Socialist, retired structural engineer, half-assed amateur jazz musician, occasional poet, husband to a wonderful woman, and father of three awesome daughters. Probably more than you need to know, but who cares?
My devices can distinguish more “gestures” than my fingers can.

I love the fact that Portland has liberated the frog from the alt-right. Take THAT, Pepe. Antifascist amphibians RULE!
Trumps worst nightmare!!! 😁
Do you know what a group of frogs is called?

Trump wouldn’t know “faith” if it bit him
The president has one core job under the Constitution: to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Not thwarted, diverted, blunted, revised or ignored. Faithfully executed.

“Smart” parking meters that won’t let you extend time are part of the war on working people.

I think nothing exists in the precise form of any of our pure, analytic models.

I think that’s not a very original thought. But good to remember.

The world needs to intervene in Gaza. Israel will not stop the genocide on its own.

Protecting this peaceful aid mission and its volunteer crews is a minimum.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is a set of peaceful civilian vessels bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza. They are under attack. Americans are on board, including from Massachusetts. Italy and Spain are sending warships to protect them. The United States must do more to keep them safe.

I suggest we recruit a team of courageous mimes to show up in pairs, one in a Trump mask, one in an Epstein mask, and reproduce the work in shifts, as living statues.
But it can’t be taken down here.
Repost to keep the memory alive.

The National Park Service before dawn on Wednesday removed a statue titled “Best Friends Forever” of President Donald Trump and Jeffery Epstein holding hands – only a day after it was erected on the National Mall.

Fascism orders itself around the people it wants to kill in order to keep other people in line.

Not the same
WE ARE NOT THE SAME!
Stephen Miller said that Kirk's last message to him was a call to dismantle radical left organizations fomenting violence across the US and he will make this happen in Kirk's name. Right extremists were responsible for 75% of all extremist murders in the US from 2013 till now. 🤨

WWIII is going to be the US against everybody else. Israel will sit on the sidelines, offer us advice, and use the confusion to kill more Palestinians and pick off a few neighbors.

#iOS #grammar suggestions are often wrong. Another factor, I suppose in the general decline of our #writing.

Not a fan of Gavin Newsom. But SOMEBODY’s got to stand up to that POS, Trump, w/out waffling around it.
Newsom shapes everything around the brute fact that Trump is serially breaking the law and using government sponsored violence and intimidation to entrench authoritarian power. He accepts this as the core fact of our moment.

To say that the state is the agent of the capitalist class, end of story, is not very dialectical.

It’s not even “dog whistles” anymore. Trump’s concentration camps are designed to be forced labor emporiums.

If (not “when”) the Democrats are in again power, they will not rush to unwind the bad acts of the MAGA regime. They will wait and see which ones can be useful to them. And continue to blame any bad effects on Trump.

Pretending there’s no pattern…
"One of the reasons the epidemic of violence against women is so unacknowledged is because cases like these are talked about individually, and often treated as though they are shocking aberrations rather than part of a pervasive pattern that operates at all levels of society."
The problem is far bigger than Jeffrey Epstein | Rebecca Solnit
Treating the scandal as an aberration misunderstands the global epidemic of violence against women

Much of human scholarship, pretty much forever, has consisted in expressing an opinion, with little evidence (and that cherry-picked) to a chorus of yeahs and a few dissenting opinions equally thinly based. Grains of salt are liberally required.

The Gaza “Humanitarian” Foundation is just setting out baits for the IOF murderers to spring the trap. Israel needs military intervention. Western leaders need courage - and humanity. It’s beyond BDS.
