Socialist, retired structural engineer, half-assed amateur jazz musician, occasional poet, husband to a wonderful woman, and father of three awesome daughters. Probably more than you need to know, but who cares?
He’ll just start traveling by sedan chair.

Response to Wallace Stevens

I have had a mind of winter.
I have stood amid the pines, on snowshoes.
And admired the snow, but now
I'm just fucking cold.

She murmurs velvet, “You know I love you so.”
Tears salt a glass of amber acid, yet
This whisky, sour, scours no chase
Where love can flow.

I've literally been reading it since I was a child. "A Picturesque Tale of Progress", first published in 1929 (well before my birth) held endless fascination for me. I would pour over its volumes, day after day.

People keep telling us, "If you knew the history..." I've read a few books. I know a few historical undisputed facts - and several people's opinions on the rest. But I would never presume to "know the history".
