The State of Climate Action 2025 report finds that global efforts to combat climate change are “well off track” and require significant acceleration to meet the 1.5°C limit. Deforestation, coal phase-out, and climate finance are particularly concerning areas where progress is lacking.

I saw someone call Ai a Thneed and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a PERFECT analogy. The Thneed was an all-purpose tool that didn't do anything really useful. It was a fad that did major damage to the environment to make the Onceler a billionare. It left no real lasting impact, only damage.

Here is the original Popular Mechanics piece from 1912, which suggested that global warming would be a beneficial phenomenon. I was in a seminar today with a climate change historian who wasn't aware of this view. 🫠🧪

My hottest take is that I don't think animation HAS to be hard.

Us artists tend to burden ourselves with expectations our audiences, algorithms, and tastes don't even care about.

I love being a human artist and creating something never before seen, out of my mind’s eye. I love making every decision with care. I love trying and failing. I love noticing mistakes and fixing them. I love it all.
