I am a sucker for the holidays, so Post Games is on sale till Sunday night.

$1 gets you all episodes. Videos. Bonus content. No ads. Everything.

(But for real, after this, I need to stop with the sales, because this is a terrible way to make money!)

Holiday kiln firing is underway. Most of these pots are refires, but I have a few fun experiments in there

John Carmack both misgendering and deadnaming someone is deeply bleak, but doing in their eulogy is beyond the pale.

Just Published: For the latest @jcmsjournal.bsky.social issue, Mal Ahern and I co-edited an In Focus dossier on 'Images and (Infra)structures,' which originally emerged from a lively @scmstudies.bsky.social roundtable in 2022. What, we ask, do images and infrastructure have to say to each other?

NEW: I spoke to original Halo devs about that ICE Halo post

One: "abhorrent”

Another: "Using Halo imagery in a call to ‘destroy’ people because of their immigration status goes way too far, and ought to offend every Halo fan, regardless of political orientation”

It’s hard to over emphasize how important it is to have a real constitution like this. There are things you should not tolerate regardless of any accompanying political or monetary pressure because they are incompatible with decency. “Don’t be evil” is not enough: make a list and stick to it.

This is not a strictly academic point, but one I feel import to state nonetheless: Nvidia did not "make the first GPU," they (potentially) coined the term, but folks like 3dfx, NEC, and _Nvidia_ had been making coprocessors for years prior to the release of the Geforce 256.

How do folks deal with line rendering in an Attributes-less quad renderer (as in, all sprite data is in a buffer object instead of passed as vertex attributes)? I assume you just make a single struct to store both gets of render data (quads and lines), but I it feels finicky. #gamedev #SDL
