✨ EVERYONE age 6 months & up should get their flu shot ✨

Yes, even our healthy kids.
Recent MMWR: more kids died last year from flu than in any other non-pandemic season since 2004 (when first reportable)

Kids should NOT die from flu

Flu shot: not perfect but a hell of a lot better than the ICU. 💉

Vax efficacy depends on flu strain circulating.
’24-25 flu season - especially severe. Luckily 💉was 56% effective against getting flu.

🚨 W/ the vax, even when flu hits, it hits softer🚨
(i.e. less likely to be hospitalized/in ICU/die)

Great article by a polio survivor. Salk declined to patent the polio vaccine, saying “it belongs to the people.”

Today is the 97th anniversary of penicillin's discovery!

Many know the story of Fleming's serendipitous find. But fewer know that the antibiotic-producing mold drifted in from a nearby lab where it was being studied during an unusually cool period that allowed it to grow.

Gift article on risks of fevers during pregnancy.

I question if denying pain relief is part of the goal to inflict suffering during pregnancy, which is difficult and dangerous enough already.

We are going to see a lot of this. Today's medical system is propped up on the idea of earning the most money possible, and the end result is coming - either hospitals go broke on catastrophic care that can't be repaid or people die. And if people die there is no one to pay any of the bills anyway.
it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."
Regardless of the disgraceful nonsense we will likely hear from this administration in the coming days on vaccine “recommendations,” Americas healthcare insurers issued a joint statement tonight saying coverage for Covid and flu shots will remain unchanged from prior years.

Speaks for itself.

I don't agree with everything from AAP (specifically on circumcision, which I think is wrong and they frame as a personal choice), but vaccines save lives. What's happening in Florida should scare everyone. Diseases don't respect our borders.
If a parent you know is confused by crazy statements coming out of Florida or from RFK Jr. seek advice from your pediatrician. Also, this is a trusted website from the American Academy of Pediatrics
