What species are you going to consume?

Their altar has their symbol on it, an ikebana, a rice offering, and a gohanzen scroll. Their services are short, simply composed of chanting of Buddhist hymns with some modifications from traditional Shin Buddhist chants. They were friendly and open to conversation.

On it is Mt. Fuji and its environs as well as an 8-pointed star, the same as some of the old mirrors in Shinto and Konko were shaped. Also note the Japanese style 3-part altar: Eucharistic altar in the center and two saints on the right and left.

They did not include the clapping that is part of most Japanese religious ceremonies, though I was informed that is one thing they want to introduce to make the Mass more Japanese. Above the altar was a round stained glass window replacing the usual mirror.

A funny running theme that resonates with the Trump era is the peasants were often convinced that, while the elites were corrupt and against the poor, the king was quietly on their side and would support their cause (the king of course always sided with the other aristocrats lol)

Bunmei has about 100,000 people mainly in Japan, USA, Mexico, Argentina, and the Philippines. The ceremony was calm and they had several ministers for their small congregation.

The Bunmei ceremony is composed of Morning Prayer, Prayer to Izunome, the Amatsu Norigoto Prayer, a Divine Song, and the Completion Prayer, followed by a lecture, explanation of the lecture, Giving of Divine Light, Prayer to Izunome, and Amatsu Norigoto Prayer.
