January 27 is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Today 80 years ago in 1945 the Red Army liberated Auschwitz, where my (Polish) second cousin was killed. Pray for the repose in Paradise of all those who died in the Holocaust and keep their memory for future generations.

Got some Tenrikyo theology books. Tenrikyo was the first Japanese new religion I visited and I just visited again. They are monotheistic, panentheistic, with a complex choreographed Liturgy. There are also some fascinating parallels between the emergences of Ancient Judaism and Tenrikyo.

What a disgusting, evil nation America is. Watching professing Christians cheering a vile, evil adulterer who mocks God and cares only for himself while his sidekick makes the Nazi salute is deeply disillusioning. I don't want to hear anything Mango Mussolini's supporters think about morality.

This poem is deeply touching to me. Before I ever proved I have Indian ancestry and how, I felt a deep connection to India, just as I always have to Poland and Israel. The longing for the lost Indian motherland and some of my ancestors wandering away (or escaping) from it.

Bare Your holy arm
and hasten the End for salvation -
Avenge the vengeance of Your servants' blood
from the wicked nation.
For the triumph is too long delayed for us,
and there is no end to days of evil,
Repel the Red One in the nethermost shadow
and establish for us the seven shepherds.

After visiting the Japanese Mass, I visited a group categorized as a Japanese New Religion called Jodo Shinshu Shinran Kai. They come from Shin Buddhism, and consider themselves to still be the same group, hence rejecting the designation of New Religion.

Yesterday, I attended a Japanese Catholic Mass. Most responses were chanted in Latin tune but in Japanese so the intonation was different than if it had been Latin.

The Anabaptists- Mennonites, Amish, Hutterites- really seem to be the only Christians who take the Sermon on the Mount seriously. All the other groups aside from individuals within them seem to want to put asterisks after different parts.

A funny running theme that resonates with the Trump era is the peasants were often convinced that, while the elites were corrupt and against the poor, the king was quietly on their side and would support their cause (the king of course always sided with the other aristocrats lol)

Yesterday I visited a small Japanese New Religion called Bunmei. Bunmei is one of the Divine Light groups, which emerged from the split between them and Sukyo Mahikari over succession of their mother organization after the founders' death.

Happy Thanksgiving! It is an excellent day to remember that birds, including turkeys 🦃, ARE dinosaurs and that you absolutely should picture raptors and tyrannosaurs as hopping, feathered critters that cooed and chirped.
