I sometimes feel like it would be easier to market my fantasy books if they were grimdark or dark fantasy. That seems to be the most popular subgenre and what gets the most attention/coverage. I guess I'll just be over here yelling into the void about my witty fantasy adventures....

Writing fantasy is writing "she put a dollop of butter on the porridge", realising your world does not in fact have cattle and changing it to "she put a dollop of antelope butter on the porridge"
Writing fantasy is trying to figure out what to call a French braid when there is no France.
Writing about fantasy cephalopods is typing “She winked” and having to look up whether octopi can wink (they can)

One thing I’d like my books to be remembered for are the platonic friendships between male and female characters. They’re such an important part of my books (and something that doesn’t get enough representation in stories). Romance is great, but so are platonic relationships!

The great cover update hasn’t really led to more sales. In fact, I’ve only sold one physical copy with the new cover so far in over a month.
