Suggestion for a future meeting: Citing of companies when their vehicles block bike lanes (and damage delineators), even if the vehicle moves before NDOT can arrive. Photo evidence is all that's needed. As here from this AM on Church St. - as usual.

How was the football game?

Yeah, I've tried to get daughter Emily to come home and use her transportation master's degree and Road Safety Professional certification here, but she's too settled in the Denver area (for now). 😞 She's not on bsky, but you can see cool things she's doing on Insta (bike.this.city/) and FB.

Where is that razor wire? That's a code violation that should be reported via HUB. 13.32.120 and 16.04.200(B)

Can we at least agree he's hot?

It's great to see @mendesbob.bsky.social back in the public discussion arena. I'm not being critical of his mostly being off the radar for the past couple of years. It's part of working in a mayoral admin, but I'm glad he's again free to share his well considered opinions.

Oops. Make that December 2. Not 4. Regardless, give $$ to @aftynbehn.bsky.social to flip a winnable district.

Hold on! We've got a big deal election down here in Tennessee to flip a cong district blue by getting @aftynbehn.bsky.social elected in a December 4 special election. With funding she CAN win despite gerrymandering by GOP legislature.

This will make my life, and that of other zoning attorneys, happier. Fence issues are a pain to deal with. The Code is clear, but as Sean says, since no permission (permit) is required, people make mistakes. The permit should be simple though. Not a full design review, etc.
October 29, 2025 at 5:45 PM
The "20 people" part of his premise is a red herring. Building code requirements would not permit 20 people in any standard 3-bed house, and zoning prohibits more than 4-5 unrelated people to live in a house in most areas. He's just saying don't let "others" move in next to white people.

I get your point, but speaking as someone in his mid-60's, we know we're old! It certainly better than the alternative.

They are the stylish and high quality parts of "swanky," just not the expensive part. The LIHTC projects constructed in Nashville provide lots of high quality affordable housing for Nashvillians. (Yes, I'm biased because my firm represents most of the LIHTC develolpers in town.)

It's almost a certainty that someone reported it. Codes never cites people for these types of violations without someone submitting a complaint.
