Watched the first two episode of PLURIBUS and that is some excellent SF thus far. Literally no idea where they go from here.

Just thinking that, in the same way that we have private correspondence between couples in the 40s, someday historians are going to be going through famous people's Slack DMs for posterity

SEATTLE-AREA FOLKS-- I know things are absolutely horrible right now but the job requires me to tell you this is happening one week from tonight. Almost exactly one week from right now, in fact. Stop by, listen to me and Django prattle on, get books scribbled in, get a little dinosaur. It'll be fun.

Our not-Bard (actually a Hunter but responsible for all the social stuff cause the rest of us are socially inept murderhobos) who is 20-120% more cat (depending on whether you count the extra cat) than the sort of catperson I'm used to drawing.

I literally pitched this, with Imperials as the Brits and Ewoks as the Zulus post RotJ. Or else a Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now
Okay so Zulu (1964), but it’s Star Wars would be both excellent and perhaps less problematic, but the premise might require the heroes to be Imperials
ironically what makes star wars stuff best is when it is 'something else, but also star wars'
e.g. Andor, a British political thriller but also Star Wars
the Mandalorian, an episode-of-the-week Western but also Star Wars (when it was good)

Me: I love the way this cookbook author writes, he explains things so clearly
My wife: But none of the results taste good
Me: I know, if not for that it'd be my perfect cookbook

I'm excited to announce that The Quiet Light will be coming out everywhere March 10th!
I'm can't wait for you to read this cozy fantasy romance with a powerful mage who just wants ice cream, a dragon shifter, and an isolated cottage with only one bed. 🥰

After extensive research, I can confirm that the best way to read this gloriously enjoyable book by @djangowexler.bsky.social is with Mother Mother's album "O My Heart" on repeat and some pear cider that you found while sorting out the garage. Just a perfect Wednesday. #booksky

One of my favorite things about this book was the self-evolving malware isn't even malicious --it's 99% ads and marketing gimmicks. But it's been set loose and multiplied and has essentially destroyed the internet simply by clogging every millimeter of it with thousands of banners and popups and spa
Hoo boy. Heading straight for the for the HARD REBOOT scenario.

Hello from Seattle! So glad you're enjoying it. I have so much fun with footnotes.
@djangowexler.bsky.social I just wanted to say hi from South Wales! I'm on p216 of the first Dark Lord Davi book and it's by FAR my favourite fantasy novel in ages! I especially love the footnotes! 🤣

Daylight Saving Time is increasingly hard to notice when my digital devices are like, "What? Nothing happened. We know what time it is."
And my stove is left blinking and screaming, "IT HAPPENED! TIME SHIFTED UNNATURALLY! THEY'RE ALL LYING! ONLY I KNOW! ONLY I REMEMBER!"

Exactly!
Also explains why Yoda thought Anakin was "too old": he wasn't worried Anakin was too old for force training but for the Jedi indoctrination to take hold--and he was right to worry.

DID YOU KNOW I have written many books?
ASHES OF THE SUN is about how, actually, kidnapping children into your order of wizard-knights to fight for (your version of) righteousness is a little creepy! If someone did that to your sister, you might be mad!

Man after a few cycles of the exact same thing ("oh noes avocado toast") it starts to look really, really obvious
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”
