Her response to this issue alone is going to cost Labour the next election and bluntly, they deserve it. Who paid for your university education, Rachel? Are you going to levy a 9% retrospective graduate tax given this statement?
Rachel Reeves: "It is not right that people who don't go to university bear the cost for others to." I don't use local leisure centres and I don't drive, so will I be made exempt for taxation that pays for all that stuff? Or is it only education we'll be going after

This is just so crazy because if you end up in 2035 with an educated elite population who don't believe they owe anyone else because they paid for it themselves, how do you think they're gonna vote?

Genuinely fascinating to have this level of contempt for your own base in favour of an imagined preferred one.

I dislike Starmer and consider him incredibly unprincipled. However the majority of the woes for the Labour Party are caused by Treasury policies. Rachel Reeves is a really terrible Chancellor with dreadful political instincts.

It's helpful to understand the creation of a Gaza Board of Peace as an attempt to replace key security and peacekeeping functions managed by the UN. It's also helpful to understand the pattern here: given prior attempts to replace UNRWA with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

I think we’re long past the point now that anyone can justify travelling to the US like it’s a normal functional country. Absolutely baffled by people still going there for holidays or conferences.

Tell me how Trump is not worse than Maduro at this point? The US government is shooting people in the street
NEWS: In a heartbreaking video, after ICE shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, a woman who was in the same SUV cries out: “They killed my wife. I don’t know what to do."

“We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head,” the distraught woman sobs.

Yet another Keir Starmer promise has been broken.

What he is proposing is cruel and divisive and will only undermine our public services.

You can't beat the far right by pandering to them or by throwing migrant workers and communities under the bus.

Who is going to break the news to Badenoch there has already been quite a detailed review of grooming gangs carried out by the Home Office?

It found, proportionally, the main group responsible were white, British, men. Something which was then ignored in favour of using the term to stoke division.
