Would be good if every #news org had a separate subdomain for #opinion pieces, which could then be separated from their news domain in #GoogleNews

With e.g., #TheHill it is tempting at times to hide it in Google News due to some of the rightwing editorials even though the news is mostly center

@andreitr.bsky.social is it possible for the #artbots to set their default lang, eg, as Eng? Not having it set can prevent their posts from showing up in #customfeeds

Most useful post & comments threading system I've ever seen is still that of OLD Reddit

You have access to everything all at once just by scrolling, nothing is randomly, cryptically collapsed & thus requiring a click on another arbritrary reply to unhide other replies

ngl, the best thing about #Facebook is that posts in a different language are #translated automatically, without me having to click ~anything~

would love to have that convenience with #Bluesky

One reason I see no point to, e.g., growing albariño outside of Spain, sangiovese outside of Italy, syrah outside of France, etc.

There's no value in it for onsumers & there are hundreds of #indigenous & vulnerable #wine #grape varieties many don't even know of

Theories of the Global Wine Glut
The world is awash with wine, or so it seems from reading the news. Down in Australia, they are counting up the gallons of unsold wine in a new (to me) measure: number of Olympic-size swimming pool…

Went to an Alexander Calder exposition at the Seattle Art Museum. I hadn’t realized that with his mobiles, the shadows are as much a part of the pieces as the actual sculpture. Loved them all, the rat is fun to look at too.

Anyone built a #customfeed #firehose indexer in #rust or #go?

Have you tested it against, e.g., an in-app curated user list to see if ever misses any posts, compared to the list?

Just wondering if it'd be any more reliable than the same feed in an interpreted lang like #python

Imagine you're a #news org w/ ltd. resources & a trusted Bluesky user adds you to a news feed & 500k users follow that feed instead of following you directly, to keep their default feed more manageable How do you measure your actual following here to justify being here?

The only purpose #hashtags serve is to find content

They are not content

They should be 100% completely decoupled & divorced from content & character quota limits & not even be in the body of a post, but a separate attached component, just like a post author & date are separate from post content
