I know this is a tired, cliched gripe these days, but if Biden had said something as remotely dumbass there would've been days upon days of stories about how he's too old and feeble to be in office.
Trump: "Like on tractors that can handle anything from hurricanes to lightning to anything. They use magnets. It's a new theory -- magnets. They're gonna lift the planes up. And it doesn't work."

In October 2023, a right-wing government swept to power in New Zealand on a wave of populist anger similar to Canada’s.

The results so far? Government debt forecast to rise. The deficit got worse. Unemployment is increasing. Craig Renney writes.

Before the election, I warned that Trump would pardon all of the Jan. 6 defendants and some of them would form the core of a new rightwing paramilitary organization loyal to Trump.

At the time, people dismissed me as alarmist. I stand by that prediction.
REPORTER: Is there now a place for the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers in the political conversation following your pardons?

There’s a concerning percentage of people in media who seem to think being a confident, ornery white man in journalism = being extremely smart

But that’s like…almost never accurate!

Incumbent governments around the world on all sides of the ideological spectrum are getting booted out of office due to inflation and people feeling like they’re still in a post-pandemic funk

This isn’t an ideological shift and whoever wins the next election will be handed a poisoned chalice
Justin Trudeau won’t have the legacy of his father, but I do think his prime ministership will be seen a lot more positively than it is today. That’s not to say it’s without scandal, but I think we discount his pandemic response, the Canada Child Benefit, and how well they weathered Trump 1.0.
