I dislike the word nonplussed.
I want it to mean unfazed - and some people do use it that way, because those people are correct - but the original meaning is "perplexed", which is stupid.

There are a bunch of species of flying squid, and they're all sick as hell.
They make a mighty squirt and shoot out of the water, then glide on the air, staying aloft for up to 30 meters. Membranes between their arms catch air. They use their fins to catch air too!
