Trying to figure out the world. I no longer welcome our new robot overlords.
It's Monday, my toddler is cutting two molars and refusing to eat, my extended family keeps discussing that "clearly every protestor is being paid by George Soros dark money" in the group chat even though I ask them to stop and I also have to figure out what the 🤬 to serve for dinner this week.

I wonder how my anti Elon pro Trump family members are justifying that now they like Elon and he's doing what needs to be done. I hope (or don't) that they stretched well before hand.

JK, one of my Senators that I thought was continuously speaking out has a voicemail box so full you can't even leave a message. Which apparently has been that way for days. Cool...
Possibly dumb #5calls questions:
*Is it better to call local offices vs DC ones? (Particularly Dem offices in traditionally Rep areas)
*Do I make separate phone calls for each issue or list them all in one?
*Is it worth calling Dem members who are already speaking out against what is going on?

A private citizen, with the backing of the President, illegally shut down a major government agency over the weekend and it is not on the front page of this morning's New York Times

After a moment of silence, Trump started his remarks by saying that America is grieving for the lives lost.

"We are one family today and we are all heartbroken," he said. He then went on to say that diversity initiatives at the FAA compromised the standards for air traffic controllers.
Without evidence, Trump blames FAA diversity initiatives for the crash

I missed this entirely:

The FAA Administrator criticized Space X’s safety record and threatened fines.

Musk demanded he resign.

He did.

On January 20th.

Michael Whitaker had only been in the role for a year but the SpaceX chief accused him of “harassment.”

the FAA administrator is also one of the two primary regulators of Elon Musk's businesses
the FAA administrator was forced to resign because the man who single-handedly funded the President's campaign, who is ineligible to be President and has not been elected or appointed to any office, told him to

And Trump's first comment was a bullshit rant about trying to lay the blame on the three soldiers on the helicopter. Never mind he and trash Elon have already gutted everything aviation related because Elon wasn't getting his way about SpaceX

The US fucked around and we are already finding out.
Rescuers are combing the Potomac River in search of survivors of American Eagle Flight 5342, which collided midair Wednesday evening with an Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport, sending both aircraft crashing into the water. wapo.st/3EiH2Sc

I am not emotionally made for quick drastic changes, but I hope one day my children know I tried. I am trying to keep the world safe for them, trying to change my own habits and controlling what I can.

Just know, I am trying.
