I once again come to the conclusion that I'm not made for social media 🙃
It was like that back when Twitter was still twitter, and now it's the same with bluesky. No matter how much I curate my feed/timeline with uplifting things. But sooner or later I end up doomscrolling and feeling bad.

I know I talk a lot, but deep down, feel like I don't have a lot to offer.

but i wanna share this because the thing my therapist told me regarding my art, really did save me. so i share it in the hopes it helps someone else like it did me.
screenshot that reads: I realized I was putting my art down before anyone else could so that it'd help dampen the blow if I was made fun of. I also realized I did this because there HAD been a point where I was confident in what I was doing, but discovered through my then spouse, that people in my community I had looked up to were posting my art and making fun of it. This...wounded me. Wounded me but I...agreed but also had friends who vehemently backed me up. One of the things being torn apart was a pose. My friend recreated IRL and even went and defended me. It still wasn't enough for the bloodlust of those wanting to punch down on those they felt below them. the problem is/was, I knew/know I am. Yeah, I still dog on myself, but I keep it to myself and use it as fuel in my fire to get better. but now i don't do it for them, I do it for me. I do it for what -I- want. but. there had been a moment in time where I let it get to me. I'd post art and say "haha, sorry this sucks" or "this was a quickie, i know it's bad." the thing is, knowing what I know now, people don't often see that as a defense mechanism and they certainly don't know how to respond to it with anything other than taking it to be a guilt trip. Like I was fishing for compliments, and boy, that really pisses people off if you're trying to passive aggressively get them to care. They see it as manipulation if it's presented in a certain way and in reality, it WAS. I was trying to get someone to go "nooo! this isn't bad! it's good!" because on my end, imposter syndrome, the anxiety voices, my self esteem, everything screamed at me to never post it. it wasn't good enough. it'd get torn apart. but so what? screenshot that reads: so what? that's not rhetorical. Literally ask yourself what your art/writing/whatever means to you? why do YOU share it? I share it because even if -ONE- person likes it, it's worth sharing and you know what? I count as one person. If I don't love it, then what am I doing it for? Learning to love what I do because others love it didn't teach me anything cause others love it for their own reasons. why do -I- love it? Plus, I will pass on to y'all what my therapist as hammered into my head, that your brain not just creates thoughts, it listens to them. If you are letting the automatic negative thoughts affect how you FEEL, your brain will consider that and keep doing the things that make it harder for you to do it because it HURTS you and seriously. i'm dead serious. your rational, conscious, part of your brain DOESN'T want you to hurt. but it only knows what it knows. so consider, if you're hard on yourself, is it because you've only known "tough love" from others? have you only ever been given the "cold hard truth" in order to "encourage" you or in most cases, sway you from something the OTHER person deems worthless? If yes, then you not only DESERVE the kindness and consideration afforded to you, you owe it to yourself to GIVE yourself that which you've always wanted/needed, but waited for others to give it to you. you don't need permission to be happy with yourself, your craft, your life. you CAN be happy and it hurts no one and it's free. this is the TRUE meaning of not having to struggle to make it "worth" it. if there's ever a moment where you don't HAVE to struggle and you can give that to yourself, DO IT.

Idk who needs to hear this, but Riverdance and Sirtaki are not "European folk dances". Both include elements of actual traditional folk dances, but they are modern choreographies made to appear rooted in a specific culture.
Sirtaki was made in 1964, Riverdance in 1990.

I need to vent about Jungkook's ADHD + ARMY behaviour.

I wish NT ARMYs understood that "professional diagnosis" is not sufficient to diagnose autism/ADHD because it's based on an incomplete & often completely wrong idea of what it is;

many people get denied diagnosis and suffer alone!

They were not wrong to have identified you as a "gifted" kid.

But they are very wrong to suggest or assert that you've somehow "wasted" your potential because you struggle w/ trauma or other emotional or behavioral challenges.

That's NOT a fair description of what happened.
