Here it is folks, the Circuits in the Woods schedule, featuring a set from your faithful beige partier.

4pm which is a very age appropriate set time for my crowd. Or eat your edibles early. Dancing encouraged.

Some days writing a new song feels like some kind of meticulous, spiritual archeology. Other days (like this one) a song just crashes in like the SWAT team! Is your creative process more like pulling teeth, or being hit by lightning? 🦷 🌩️ 🤔

Time for the gentle reminder that you don’t have to wait until Bandcamp Friday to support independent musicians and labels. The cut Bandcamp takes is pretty reasonable in the scope of things. And I can attest that it is absolutely wonderful when some buys your music just because.

@mike-eagle.bsky.social I waited until the vinyl arrived to have my first listen. Does not disappoint. What is my favorite Mike Eagle record? Whichever one I’m listening to.

My vinyl discography remains complete.

The death of the culture critic as a viable career is, in my opinion, an incalculable loss. Not just because I think a lot of us wrote things that helped transform the way people look at media, but also just because that kind of writing is fun!
there are much worse problems.

that said, as someone who loves writing reviews & has written thousands & is proud of that & thinks reviews are important, seeing culture coverage, critics & reviews constantly take it on the chin for the past decade--esp last few years--has been really fucking hard.

Horror HATES rich people. It's one of the foundations of the genre. "Rich people suck" is the moral of like 3/4ths of horror stories.
