THIS part right here 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾. The issue isn't Trump. The issue is too many Americans voted for him and the millions of others who didn't care enough to vote at all. If you give a monkey a gun and it shoots someone, do you get mad at the monkey or the person who gave it to him?
We can spin it any way we want to. Trump won because this is a country full of racists. The sooner we can accept that, the sooner we can work on fixing it. Trump isn't the problem. He just exposed it and managed to benefit from it.

What makes this problematic is that when sh*t hits the fan and it's time to galvanize protests, Black women will be asked to get involved. Had we listened to them in the first place, we wouldn't be in that situation.

I’m starting to think that the longer we shield Trump voters from the worst economic outcomes, the worse things actually will get.
Sometimes people just have to find out the hard way, sad as that is. Yes, we will suffer. But at least they will learn that elections do have consequences.

This is a friendly reminder that Black people cannot punch their way out of racism. This tired belief puts the entire onus on Black people for fixing racism. It is a societal effort.

Precisely why Trump was so dangerous to an uneducated public. This plus the new tariff policies will only increase prices. So not only will Trump not deliver on his economic promises, but marginalized populations will continue to be harmed.
Lots of stories about how mass deportations will spike food prices and cause inflation. But as Tom Bonier noted, only one published before Election Day...
