The close association with Matthew Kroenig is... not great news.
If you want to get a sense of what Trump’s national security adviser Michael Waltz thinks, this oped which he published just before the election is useful.

also fun fact: some French officials also thought that helping Israel get the bomb would be useful because the powerful Jewish lobby in the US could then convince US officials to cooperate on atomic matters.
The moment I learned that there were people in the British Foreign Office who no joke thought that what became the Balfour Declaration was a good idea because it would convince the International Jewish Banking Conspiracy to intervene on their side in WW1 was when I became the Joker, for the record.

Super interesting memo, uncharacteristically straightforward, in which LeMay explains, in summer 1950, how in the event of Washington being destroyed before atomic bombs being authorized for use by SAC, he'd just take it upon himself to get access to them.

There's a lot to suggest 2024 is going to be a pretty extraordinary year for Earth's climate. This graph is wild. After a record year for Global Sea Surface temperatures in 2023 (yellow line), just look how this year has started (red line)...

I mean, everything about this is wrong, but the idea that the US is a natural part of the middle east while Iran is merely a parasite is a whole new level of head-up-your-own-ass-ness
He's at the height of his powers. To perform at this level this late into the game -- it's unbelievable. At this age he could rest easy. Move into mentorship, watching up and comers pass him by. But no. He's taking his craft in radical new directions, even now. Even now, no one's doing it like him.

I struggle to believe that a guy who very seriously defines international politics as "the main activity of diplomats and the military, usually under the direction of their government" in his intro can be taken seriously by so many smart people.
