Back from doing a couple of errands. I saw a driver with only the driver's side windshield cleared of snow. The rest of the car was covered in snow. What the hell is wrong with people?

Please remember.....This is not a happy time for everyone. Many that work in restaurants and retail have to deal with horrible customers, many are alone for whatever reason and there are those that have been discarded by friends and family. Take time to be kind, even a little bit

Council is set to pass a cobbled-together status quo budget that fails to coherently address the challenges our city faces. We can be more ambitious, to build a city that works for everyone.

Councillor Tim Tierney is wrong about ‘Chronic No-Voters’ in his Ottawa Citizen Op/Ed on Saturday.
His opinion would be easier to take seriously if the comments weren’t coming from someone with a 15-year track record of being a reliable yes-man for every budget. 1/21

I figure the best thing Ontarians can do at this point is try to ignore all the news of Doug Ford’s next four years worth of debacles and boondoggling and just hope there’s enough of Ontario left in 2029 to start rebuilding.

$500M in public money went to Algoma Steel and now 1,000+ jobs are gone. The Liberals say they support workers, but this is what happens when their bailouts reward corporations instead of families. We need federal projects using Canadian steel and stronger EI for workers who get left behind.

We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

The little things add up: broken sidewalks, unkempt weeds, the slow pace of snow removal. Austerity has a cost and a real impact on our quality of life.

We ask city staff to put together budgets, but they are working with scraps.

We can do so much better.

She represented the best of Canadian sport and the Canadian spirit.
My deepest sympathies to her family and colleagues.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

Usage of an object is almost primarily driven by the value proposition. Which is a matter of perception.

We run the transit system like it is a service of last resort. When we should be running it as, our primary mode transportation.
