Some of the projects I have recently built:
- data.geo-kima.org (started by @SinaiRusinek) - the Hebrew place names gazetteer.
- hasidicstoriesbrowser.dh-dev.com - a distant reading web platform on top of TEI-Publisher annotated editions of Hasidic stories.
For a while there we were alone, with GPT, Claude and Perplexity not available. Even though Gemini was chugging along, it felt a little like being home alone with the grownups out of town, no?

It is definitely happening this time!
e-editiones community meetup in October takes place next Tuesday, the 7th of October at 17:00 CEST.

Since the talk by @dh-dev.com, "The Hasidic Stories Browser", could not take place in September, we're pleased to have it rescheduled for this month's meeting.

How have I only now found out that @iandunt.bsky.social's striking 13 has a podcust, and why is it read like the shipping news?

It's not the Artificial Intelligence that is to blame, it is (human) natural idiocy.

@dorianlynskey.bsky.social just heard you ask on OGWEN how is Reform ahead if Farage is less popular than both legacy party leaders. Well they might lead in the voting intention surveys but are far from having a majority. The difference between Nigel's popularity and Reform's isn't huge.

In infrastructure news: Just deployed a matching service for 48,124 Hebrew place names and their Latin and Arabic equivalents, as well as the 150,018 variants of these names. The service is at match.dh-dev.com/kima and is based on Kima, the Hebrew names gazetteer at [#DigitalHumanities] (1/3)

Truly revolutionary! What next, string some podcasts together and call it radio?
I think it’s high time for all those substackers to get together and publish something like a joint venture. We used to call this a newspaper. There’s now way even I can afford to follow you all separately. 😅
Don't hate me but I've started a (free) substack. A sort of political journal to try and make some sense of it all. So here is the first one- why Farage may yet emerge from this humiliating day in a stronger position than before.

Do subscribe !

They have gone and ruined it for me - my day is filled with BN (I refuse the familiarity of calling him BB) related news and his evil self centredness and now the best ideas podcast is doing 2 episodes about him. Although I might listen for the curse words.
🚨New episode out🚨 It's really important to understand who Benjamin Netanyahu is and what motivates him. @dorianlynskey.bsky.social and @iandunt.bsky.social start his story this week. Listen ⬇️
