By characterizing abortion as health care, international orgs have pushed back against abortion exceptionalism. The World Health Organization recognizes that “[a]bortion is a simple health care intervention.” Numerous countries have adopted laws and policies to align with WHO recommendations.

me in 2077: what people forget is that there were a half dozen plane crashes each month before the Great AI Plane Skyfall of 2025

grandson: wow so everybody thought AI was going to fix all of that?

me: haha what? oh. no. not even kind of. No

I used to have a really hard time describing what I do because it’d come out as a way too long sentence like, “I analyze how throughout history, culture and media relay propaganda from Christian apocalyptic movements to sway politics.”

I hate that this makes so much more sense now

My favorite way to consume media recently is to listen to audiobooks and man. My mental health has been >>>>> because of it.

I’ve got 6 books on hold on Libby. Wait time ranges from 2-7 weeks.

How much y’all wanna bet they all come available within like 48 hours of each other?

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.
