Wow. Brits make a tv show, ignore advice, punish someone for using valid techniques, use "local" words the locals never have, and generally fuck up a hobby while insulting people. Sadly, I can't even say I'm surprised. We'd probably do that too. NOT a way to get people interested in knitting.
Leave it to the British to come up with a competitive knitting show, completely ignoring cultural advice from a Scottish group, and cause knitting drama. Incredible.

One thing to do, especially if you’re a science writer or editor, is when you have occasion to mention the names of the discoverers of the structure of DNA, just say “Watson, Crick, and Franklin.” No one can stop us, and it is correct.

For $3, they can provide 15 meals and what they can do with the money you might spend on a few cans can be converted to vastly more in fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, or meat.

I swear to god, Amazon. 2 deliveries, barely a minute apart. Second one done right. first one, on neighbor's porch. What is so hard about seeing 4" high black numbers on a white background in bright sunshine, versus his almost wall-colored numbers 30 feet further back in shade? FFS.
