Here are some of the highlights of them unable to answer my basic questions or rebut the simplest of points. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Antivaxxers lie and say measles is ‘just a rash’

Please inform those you know about the dangers of measles and the need for vaccination.

Also tell them the earth is round, gravity exists and vaccines don’t cause autism.

It’s the narcissist’s playbook.

1. Do something bad/stupid

2. Blame someone else (“They (or you) did this/made me do this!”)

3. Loudly claim (usually falsely) to have fixed the problem

4. Take credit for 3 (but never blame for 1) and say “Look what I did for you! You should be grateful!”
So “emergency.” Much “national security.”

Missed this statement from Pen Canada last week:

”This decision sets a troubling precedent: that social media outrage can determine editorial direction. In cancelling the segment under pressure, CTV may have handed a victory to those who seek to weaponize online harassment to silence journalists”

I’m devastated, but I’m also angry. I’m angry because this is an attack on press freedom.

If opportunities can be stripped from journalists simply because enough people repeat the same bad-faith narrative, how can anyone withstand the career impact of doing work that matters?
