We’re going to annex Canada and invade Greenland but we can’t request return of an innocent man from El Salvador.

…helpful ways. There’s plenty of great comedy and stand up that’s angry in a righteous or effective way because it’s undergirded by things like compassion or tattered idealism

I would not be the first to notice that “conservative comedy” almost never works largely because the perpetrators and alleged comics get too mad for it to be funny which is often true but also an incomplete explanation b/c it’s not just that they get too mad it’s that they’re not mad in comedically…

It's really wild how quickly Trump is rushing to get his nominees named.

As I detailed in the post below, most presidents-elect *start* rolling out their Cabinet picks around Thanksgiving and take months to finish, but Trump might be *finished* by then.

The share of the general population that has been credibly accused of sexual misconduct has to very extremely small, right? So why is Trump's hit rate so high?

I’ve said it before, will doubtless say it again: These folks are going to be permanently resentful because they’re seeking political power as a substitute for cultural power, and it’s never going to give them what they actually want.
I love how far afield this is from any problem government can address. “Now that Trump won people have to like and agree with me and not tell me I suck anymore.” bsky.app/profile/yash...
2. “For the last four years, very acutely, and I know it preceded these four years as well, but there's been kind of a pressing down. A pressing down and kind of limiting what people can say.”

Forced birth in a country with:

—No universal healthcare
—No universal childcare
—No paid family & medical leave
—One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations

This isn't about "life." It's about control.
between anti-abortion extremists and rfk the trump administration seems to be a targeted effort to increase maternal and early childhood mortality
