Here's what happened this week in North Carolina politics.

Our legislature is disgraceful, but we're keeping our mountains in our hearts. ❤️⛰️

Notice, 'hostile to cars' and not drivers.

We are all pedestrians at some point and feel safer walking/rolling AWAY from heavy machinery.

Gonna try and connect Substack, Bluesky and Threads so I can be more consistent in my thought sharing across platforms.

Also streamlining closer to my interest than 100% transit advocacy so be prepared for secondhand shopping, third spaces, bike/transit commuter stories and Commanders Football!

My wife is now a confident, skilled e-cargo bike rider, but this clip captures her very first ride on an ebike on a steep alley hill behind Perennial Cycle in Minneapolis.

This was the moment she discovered the empowering potential of ebikes, just a few years after learning to ride a bike herself.

Have you ever biked or walked through a protected or "Dutch" intersection before? This treatment uses concrete to protect pedestrians and bicyclists from cars, and shortens crossing distances. This is N Davidson @ Jordan Pl in Charlotte, NC. Would love to see this become the norm in #Carrboro.
