I don't know about you, but this week has been very radicalizing for me. #UHCKiller and #transrights have shown how out of touch both parties are with the real problems in our country. And I don't think I'm alone in that assessment.

After yesterday's rather heavy article, I decided to do some armchair #history on #JohnAdams with lots of quotes and primary sources. I hope you all enjoy it.

Chase Strangio did the #transcommunity proud today. His arguments were sharp, smart, and focused. I worry about the implications of #SCOTUS ruling on the side of #Skrmetti for #transrights moving forward, but whatever happens I can't help but feel immensely proud of our community. Thank you #ACLU!

A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

In the midst of spreading anti-trans sentiment, a lawyer will make history as the first openly trans lawyer to argue before the Supreme Court.

He will be arguing why Tennessee's gender affirming care ban for minors is unconstitutional.

"There’s been a 2,489% increase since 2015 in anti-trans legislation across the entire country, mostly propagated by a handful of outside groups."

Today really is the #Thanksgiving of all time. We are proud to be American and ashamed of America. We know we may be starving soon, so we feast while we can. We gather together in friendship, aware that some of us want the others thrown out of the country. Such #America. Maximum #USA.

Youtube autoplayed this old #FinancialDiet video, and in the context of Kamala's loss, her take on how the economy felt 6 months ago is kinda chilling. "We're being told this is the greatest economy ever, but that isn't how it feels for working people." Bruh... youtu.be/0K4Gk9uUCZ0?...

UBI works.

Social investment works.

Socialized health insurance works.

It’s cheaper to just house the homeless, feed the hungry, and give medical care to addicts than it is to punish them.

American oligarchs block all this so they can criminalize poverty as an excuse to strip us of our rights.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

Here's some ideas of where you can pitch in. Mutual aid looks like sharing your time, skills, resources, and supplies with your community.

White people, especially, it's time to support immigration advocacy groups.

One thing you have to give the #GOP credit for—they have vision. While the #DNC is stuck in the same cycle of arguing over how best to capitulate to the Overton window slide, the GOP is out there eagerly pushing it rightward and creating the electorate that they want to appeal to.

In strange way, I feel fairly well prepared to live under a repressive, reactionary regime.

As a queer writer who lived under George W, I remember when minority subcultures found community in hidden, decentralized forums. There was a #resilience, a sense of #MutualAid. We can have that again.

A white repairman asks me if I feel safe in my neighborhood. Confused, I look at the kids playing outside the elementary school next door. The hood is safe, but not white. I am white, and I know what he means.

"I know there are no sex offenders within 2 miles of my house," I say sharply. "Do you?"

Good morning, Blue Sky.

Being resilient is easier when you're surrounded by the right people.

Build communities that make you smarter and tougher for the battles ahead.

Never give up hope. Never stop fighting for what is right. And just.

Whatever comes our way, we will face it together.
