I don't know about you, but this week has been very radicalizing for me. #UHCKiller and #transrights have shown how out of touch both parties are with the real problems in our country. And I don't think I'm alone in that assessment.

Chase Strangio did the #transcommunity proud today. His arguments were sharp, smart, and focused. I worry about the implications of #SCOTUS ruling on the side of #Skrmetti for #transrights moving forward, but whatever happens I can't help but feel immensely proud of our community. Thank you #ACLU!

A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

I don't disagree that the Biden administration failed on some very impactful benchmarks, but I do think that the greater picture of the electorate right now shows a bigger problem than one man's ego. Then entire country has slid to the right, and the Dems have slid right with them.

If they want to run on immigration, then they will spend four years shaping the public conversation to create the anti-immigrant sentiment that makes it easiest for them to win on immigration. Biden's focus on tightening the border on strengthened Trump's pitch. It was a complete miscalculation.

Does the right care that their positions are unpopular? NO! They don’t care because they understand the human condition. They understand that opinion is malleable, as easy to shift as wet clay.

Until #Democrats understand this, and start treating #culture as something to be crafted and shaped with intention and integrity, they will continue to lose ground and capitulate to right wing narratives.

They understand that the world is not a static data set to be studied and reflected like a mirror. It is a sandbox, in which government is the plastic mold and any castle can be dismantled if you dump enough water on top of it.

One thing you have to give the #GOP credit for—they have vision. While the #DNC is stuck in the same cycle of arguing over how best to capitulate to the Overton window slide, the GOP is out there eagerly pushing it rightward and creating the electorate that they want to appeal to.

As a queer writer who lived under George W, I remember when minority subcultures found community in hidden, decentralized forums. There was a #resilience, a sense of #MutualAid. We can have that again.
