The funny thing about Ramos is the ego she has despite having zero power or sway in her own district. She couldn't even get her chosen city council candidate for most of her district enough sigs to get on the ballot. She alienates allies and pick fights like she's Cuomo at the height of his powers.
Jessica Ramos is a FRAUD who is mentally and financially broke. She has her seat because she beat José Peralta, who was on his deathbed.

The unions don't love her, her neighbors don't love her, the legislature doesn't love her, and one day we'll talk about [REDACTED].

AOC/DSA hatred leads to this
June 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
This woman has now been so negatively polarized by her hatred of AOC and DSA that she is endorsing a man she spent basically her entire career railing against.
Less than 48 hours after saying she wished New Yorkers cared about women getting harassed, State Senator Jessica Ramos is set to appear at a campaign event with Andrew Cuomo and announce she is endorsing him.

When people question AOC’s ball knowledge remember that she decided to not intervene in the Brandon Johnson race when the rest of the national progressive movement was. Considering she backed Helen Gym around the same time, she obviously had some kind of bad sense about him.

I've been thinking about this more and I think an underrated part of the white college educated revolt against Cuomo is that it makes complete sense that they would be the demo most likely to truly care about his perceived transgressions.
When socialism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a college diploma
High school or less: Cuomo - 71% Zohran - 29%
Vocational/tech school - Cuomo - 83% Zohran - 17%
Associates Degree - Cuomo - 76% Zohran - 24%
College Graduate - Zohran - 58% Cuomo - 42%
Postgrad: Zohran - 57% Cuomo - 43%

New Siena poll has AOC at +14 with all voters statewide in New York, easily dwarfing every other politician polled. Schumer is at -10. scri.siena.edu/wp-content/u... @socialconcarne.bsky.social

Ritchie has mediocre numbers with Democrats statewide. He’s only 32/17 overall and 36/18 with black voters and 38/20 with Latinos. He’s losing 51/11 to Hochul and losing black voters to her 61/6 and losing Latinos to her 45/16.

this is both true and yet the outlier exists
Related to this, I think there are also a not insignificant number of New Yorkers, especially in the outer boroughs, who just straight up don't like or trust people who identify as progressive or DSA and are going to rank Cuomo as a fuck you to those groups.
There's really two New Yorks, a progressive inner New York of renters who take transit, and a more conservative outer New York of homeowners who drive, and Cuomo is running a campaign for outer New York. High property values are good for them!

I mean your own numbers show why this is a bad comparison. Yang never had large support like Cuomo currently does in polling. He led an unknown and fragmented field with 15-18% while everyone else polled worse.
Every time I see a poll for NYC mayor I go back and find one from around the same time in 2021. For reference, Yang ended up with 14.8% and Garcia, who has 2% in this poll, got 49.6%.

my guess is Cuomo ultimately wins, but Zohran gets a high enough percentage as the second place finisher to completely shatter a lot of perceptions and narratives we still hear about citywide primaries.

Pretty obvious Ritchie is banking on Cuomo winning and endorsing him against Hochul

this is likely why Adams has basically given up. Another poll showing him in dire condition, getting only 10% in a race with Cuomo. He loses black voters 46-18 to Cuomo. nypost.com/2025/01/22/u...

It's going to be interesting to see how Ritchie holds up against real scrutiny for basically the first in his entire political career. There's a lot more like this to be dredged up against him to paint him as a flip flopper.

I like it here and I don’t think a mega corp Twitter clone can kill spaces like these.

There is a high level of original thought and engagement, people care about each other and maintain a strong space minimizing bad faith, harassment, and disinfo, which lets people be themselves & build community
