Successive UK governments have created a student loan system which *actively* embeds unfairness and inequality between and within generations.

Finally, (some) politicians are waking up to it. It needs complete and urgent reform. Special News Agents report.

Student loans need to be interest-free, don’t they?

Pay back only what you borrowed, at a reasonable rate, when you reach an appropriate earnings threshold.

The current system is so counter-productive to the long-term prosperity of the country it’s untrue.

“What we are witnessing is systemic, extremely serious and indicative of a much deeper collapse in both politics and economics.

“This is not merely a warning sign. It is evidence that something fundamental is breaking, and that what lies ahead will be worse unless it is actively resisted.”
Peter Mandelson scandal shows how Westminster politics is rotten to the core

Beware anyone who talks with soaring rhetoric about "cleaning up politics"; watch what they actually do rather than believing their weasel words.

We don't need US style hearings to clear ambassadorial appointments, what we need is to remove the influence of money from politics, and increased scrutiny of politicians, especially ex ministers', sources of income during and after their Westminster careers.

Starmer won't go there.

They talk about Angela Rayner's stamp duty, but no talk of Nigel Farage's dodgy house deal in Clacton, or his 17 breaches of the MPs’ code of conduct, failing to declare £380,000 on time.
It's always different for men, especially right-wing men.

#MorganMcSweeney was instrumental in the internal sabotage of #JeremyCorbyn's leadership of the LP and the subsequent nobbling his chances in General Election !

Maybe his destructive, devious skills & #Starmer 's own deceit & ruthlessness need to get in the bin !!🗑

I don't even care why he changed his mind, but if you ask me why I can't support Starmer, this would probably be my list too, only adding his reverse ferret on EU membership.

1. People struggle to reconcile Keir Starmer’s ruthless ambition, Machiavellian manoeuvres, breaking of promises, collaboration in genocide, bans on protest, aid cuts, benefit cuts and war on nature with his history as a human rights lawyer. But perhaps there is no contradiction.

If all these rich men "regret" their time with Epstein then why didn't they announce prior to the release of the files that their names would be part of the collection? Why didn't they self-report? The answer is they are not sorry and have no regret. They are sorry and regret they got caught.
