ALPRs are powerful. It's not safe for anyone to use them. There is no legitimate use of ALPRs. ALPRs make us all less safe.

Not understanding (or willfully ignoring) the arguments against, and strong public resentment of, #Flock and mass #surveillance! ❌

The *only* proposed, but clearly reluctant, concession here is data retention down from 30 days to 10-12! ❌

Chief Lowe really just doesn't get it (or is being willfully ignorant). Not impressed with his handling of this. 👎

We can choose what car to buy, we don't get a choice to avoid his imposition of dragnet surveillance.

Except, maybe we do...

Chief Lowe said he wants to turn all the #Flock cameras back on with effectively no changes! 👎

Whether there was any outside access or not is besides the point, we just don't want to be surveilled 24/7! 🚫

The suspension remains in place.

A legal review on the contract will be the next step. ✅

If your city is suspending or cancelling #Flock, remember that "switching to another #ALPR vendor" is NOT the solution.

Dragnet bulk data collection is the core problem. #Flock is just one particularly egregious example.

Mass #surveillance does not make any of us safer! 🚫
