I have (well, had) an old iPhone that recently started breaking apart, so I got a refurbished one. Just one problem: I don't remember my apple password. Easy enough to fix I thought.

Viper feels like a return to a design idea that I really appreciate, where technical skill is a vector to separate yourself from the pack, but you can still play a complete game even without diving into the fancier execution. They did a really good job!

I think it might be the Trails of Cold Steel series? The gameplay is fantastic, but by the end of the 4th game the story is such a disaster I was legit angry at it days afterwards.

Operation Galuga was good! Not €40 good, but good! It has all the Contra things: varied level design, busted weapons, and the dumbest story imaginable.
The levels pay homage to all the previous 2d games, but still do their own thing with it.

I just noticed that Jimmy And The Pulsating Mass - one of the best indie JRPGs I've ever played - is JUST shy of 500 reviews and the Overwhelmingly Positive rating.

She lacks a bit of the snappiness her movement had in sf4, but otherwise Viper looks sick.

I wish the new Shinobi game wasn't a metroidvania. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered, but it feels like it's negatively impacting its level design. There's so much level that's just filler platforming to get on top or below the previous section just so the game can go "see?! We've circled back!".

Finished Silksong! It was extremely good, but also so much food, man. I didn't end up exploring every area because I was starting to get grumpy at stuff I under normal circumstances would've loved.
