We are aware of a third-party outage (CloudFlare) which means that many websites, including Debug, are currently inaccessible.

Several social media platforms are also down as a result.

We are monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates until this is resolved.

I created Debug to give indie gaming fans an “offline” way to enjoy this hobby.

The same way I used to read Edge, PC Gamer, and OXM growing up.

It feels give to take your eyes off screens for a short moment.

We’ve just been made aware that Debug #12 was “out of stock” as of this morning

There are actually 20 copies left, and the website has been updated to reflect this!

“Early Access games are available for sale and thus eligible for review.”

Agree? Or disagree?

Our answer… “it depends.” But what do you think?

Fun fact…

Back in the day, publishers used to send in artificially resolution boosted screenshots so they looked better in print.

Many of us in print media called them bullshots, and it was particularly common in the Xbox and PS2 days!
Tip #12

Again. Resolution matters more than you think. An A4 page printed at 300 DPI is roughly 2480 × 3508 pixels.

Anything smaller may look soft or blurry in print.

Editors can always scale images down, but they can’t invent lost detail when scaling up.

Pitching your game to print media? Here’s a thread full of tips!

Always send screenshots in PNG format. JPEG compression blurs sharp edges and creates ugly artefacts that look even worse once printed at 300 DPI.

Where possible, submit your screenshots at 4K resolution. Or native res for pixel art.
